Our beloved John Gaskell, sadly lost his 3 year battle with prostate cancer on Thursday 27th July 2023, 3pm at Bassetlaw Hospice. 💔

For those of you that knew John personally, knew he was a genuinely nice guy and no one had a bad word to say about him!  John was once met and never forgotten 🩵

John was a true gentleman and had the kindest heart. 💙

He was a simple man that loved nothing more than his family and friends, a pint, a bit of pork pie and  Sheffield Wednesday 🦉

Throughout his tough battle he always maintained a smile, never moaned and occasionally made it down to the spoons for a pint and a catch up with the staff and customers… 🍺

Johns last wish was to be in Bassetlaw hospice and visited for their well-being sessions and coffee mornings each week before eventually being admitted. ☕️🍰

The staff and volunteers at Bassetlaw Hospice are fantastic and cared for John amazingly, they went above and beyond every day making sure even us as visitors were looked after…. We can not thank them enough for their kindness, compassion and unbelievable support throughout such a difficult time.⭐️
