Story
Thank you very much for visiting my fundraising page.
I have decided to take on The Snowdonia Challenge on behalf of REGAIN.
REGAIN is a charity which works to improve the independence of British men and women who are tetraplegic as a result of a sports or leisure injury. These injuries are often “no fault” and the persons injured do not have any access to compensation to assist either them or their families in day to day life. They therefore have to rely on charities such as REGAIN for assistance.
Having worked in the Personal Injury field at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors LLP I have often witnessed the devastating impact injuries have on accident victims and their families lives.
As you are aware I am not super fit or particularly accomplished at cycling, canoeing or hill-climbing so the size of this challenge cannot be under-estimated! I expect it to be very difficult indeed but training has already begun and I am committed to repaying the generosity of those who are kind enough to sponsor me.
To help you decide on your contribution you may find it useful to know that the challenge consists of 40 miles cycling around Snowdon, Climbing and descending Snowdon, and Canoeing across Llyn Gwynant.
The fastest teams take six hours to complete the event and slowest take twelve hours. My aim is to complete it in nine hours.
I am very grateful for you contribution via this page and I appreciate this involves an up front payment.
