We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.
Story
We’re four World Class athletes (honest – look at our pictures!), and we’re doing our part to support KPMG and the Alzheimer’s Society’s Big Blue Bike Ride, which is raising money to help support the fight against Alzheimers - an excellent cause.
We’re each doing various stages in the north, which range from the sublime to the ridiculous:
– Stage 1 on 1st June between and (82 miles)
– Stage 2 on 2nd June between Harrogate and (78 miles)
– Stage 3 on 3rd June between Blackburn and , via (80 miles)
Each of these stages is part of a much longer ride covering the whole country, visiting each of the 22 UK KPMG offices.
We’re currently undergoing a strenuous 10 week training plan, which includes:
i) Cycling a bit
ii) Eating a lot
iii) Beer
iv) Deciding how many pairs of padded shorts to wear to protect our more important assets from the rigours of 8 hours plus on a saddle.
We’re doing our bit, but we also want to encourage you to do yours. This can be in either of three ways:
i) Take part in the ride yourself
ii) Sponsor us
iii) Turn up to wave as we limp past on our bikes
As an incentive to open your wallets and purses, one of our team has pledged to subject himself to a leg waxing if the target is reached before the event.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
