Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and thank you for taking the time to read my story......
For the next 15 months I will be completing a personal gruelling training schedule in preparation for June 2015. As for 6 days I will cycling a total of 660 km (410Miles) through thick forests, open farmland, high mountain terrain, cycling through the USA from Niagara Falls to New York City. This will be a tough personal challenge, but one i am looking forward to completing.
My personal aim is to raise £3500 for my chosen charity Shelter. Shelter helps millions of people every year including individuals, families and children struggling with bad housing or being homeless and they campaign hard to prevent people from being homless in the first place.
This amount will go a long way to support the charity and potentially help lots of families avoid being homeless and give great hope to those who are homeless.
The personal reasons for me attempting this challenge are mainly in loving memory of the two most important people I have lost in my life. My sister Donna, who suddenly past away in June 2013 aged 42 from a brain aneurysm, who left behind my 2 beautiful nieces Shannon 19 and Savannah 11 who I now currently look after. This also is in memory of my mother June, who passed away aged 53 from the same condition as my sister Donna. This when I was 17 years old. These two ladies played a big part in my life growing up and I miss them dearly. These two ladies always did a lot to help others through various ways and as such I want the chance to give something back myself as they did throughout their lives.
I feel that this would be a once in a life time opportunity for me to complete a challenge that I know my mum and sister would be proud of me for completing, but mainly that I have done something help other people who are in need of help the most.
So let me sign off by saying thank you in advanced for all your support and please spare whatever you can to help me in my challenge. See you at the finish line!
Thanks again
John
