Story

Hi,
Thanks for coming to look at our page.
About 3 years ago our Mum, Marilyn, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). MND is a cruel disease that attacks the brain's ability to communicate with the muscles. It is a terminal disease and there is no cure. First, Mum lost her speech (we have not heard her voice in 2 years) and then she became unable to walk. Now, there is very little that she can do without assistance. She has had to miss things like being able to dance at John's wedding, buying ridiculous presents for her sons and playing with her grandchildren, all of which she would dearly love to do.

We have therefore decided to raise money for the MNDA by running the Paris Marathon together this April. John has been suffering with a groin injury and Dan is still recuperating from a knee injury, so the training hasn't quite gone to plan so far.  We're not expecting to break any records but we're both determined that we will run the whole thing (together if possible).

We should mention that the cost of entering this marathon (travel, accommodation, race entry) was considerable and therefore a small proportion of the sponsorship money raised on this page will go towards covering some of these costs (£300).
If you would like to sponsor us - please do so by clicking on the donate button. Thanks very much in advance,
Dan & John Geddes
