Story
I am rowing 5km every day for the whole of 2020. I have rowed previously but am not an avid rower. This is an arduous, physical and mental challenge that has already pushed my personal limits.
The cause is one that we can all walk by without noticing and is an ongoing concern, especially in poorer communities.
A local community works best when it supports itself, helping those who are most vulnerable by putting them in a position to help themselves. Grantham Passage does this by offering compassion, help, support and non-judgmental assistance to those that need it around the Grantham area. Not only the food support but help with finances, mental health, benefits and housing advice and being able to step in and make a positive difference to someone who is at their time of crisis. They provide friendship and guidance through whatever challenges people face, maintaining dignity and humility.
With the impact of Covid-19 and the uncertainty of leaving the EU, the smallest drop in income can prove disastrous for the most vulnerable in a community. As the weather gets colder some people cannot rely on a warm meal in a warm house. Now is the time to help those who desperately want to help themselves.
