Story
Mission accomplished with a time of 4hours,19minutes and 33 seconds (just sneaked 15,851st position!) on the day after my 39th birthday.

Unfortunately I missed out on the GB Olympic Team qualification time of 2hrs 15mins by some margin. I did however manage a sprint finish up The Mall - hundreds of people were shouting "come on John" so I'll wait by the phone just in case this impressed the selection committee.
I write this report laid up in bed, physically wrecked. From top down my neck and shoulders are now very sunburned, shoulders ache, legs are very stiff, knees locked, feet are blistered and my left big toe appears to be about to reject it's toenail!
Mentally however, i'm extremely contented. After the race, myself and the other Guide Dogs runners were treated like kings by the Guide Dogs organisation. It was really satisfying to be personally thanked by blind dog owners. They asked me to pass on their gratitute to all those who have donated to my fundraising page. I have been touched by your generosity, and can't emphasise enough how much a difference guide dog makes to someone's life.
