Story
In March I will be nearly 400 miles North of the Arctic Circle sledding with the huskies in temperatures as low as -30C! I will be coming across the blizzards, "white-outs", mountains and the frozen lakes of Norway, and all for the sake of The Battersea Dog and Cats Homes Charity.
I'm getting into some pretty hard training before the expedition and am looking for people to exercise with me. If anyone wishes for a free "special personal training session" in exchange for a generous donation for the Battersea charity - drop me an email at butterfieldjohn10@yahoo.co.uk. and you'll be helping the homes of the dogs and cats........and helping your own bodies fitness!
I'm now 38 and have been a lover of animals all my life. My dog and best friend, Dennis, developed epilepsy at the age of three and it was very hard work looking after him. Many animals with similar disabilities are cared for and re-homed by charities such as Battersea. Many owners of epileptic animals can't afford the medication or the insurance to provide the time to care for them. It can be a real full time job!
The best part of this expedition, of course, is going to be the result - you'll be helping the thousands of abandoned and lost cats and dogs that come through the Home each year. Without the help and generosity of people like you and fellow sponsors then Battersea could not continue their vital work.
Donating through JustGiving is simple and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every donation by a UK taxpayer.
It’s the most efficient way for you to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep for Battersea and donate......oh....and wish me luck!!
Thank you,
John.
