Story
My name is Andrew Thorlby, and I worked with John at Donaldsons. Like many people, I did not know that he suffered from Cystic Fibrosis, a terminal condition, as well as having a chronic asthma condition. John died in December 2011, following a chronic asthma attack.
Having read an article in a local York newspaper (The Press, 6 January 2012) I contacted his father and asked if there was a charity that former colleagues of John could donate to, in memory of John. He asked for donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
JustGiving state that giving via their site is secure, that they do not sell personal details or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
