Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Graeme Fisher and I being now retired, previously long suffering members of ATLAS Council and both living in the Nottingham area have, for the past two years, contrived to walk together, come whatever the weather, about 7 miles once a week in the Peak District.
Still being his impetuous self and, totally unexpectedly to me, Graeme recently suggested we do a longer walk - Coast to Coast! [ not much difference from our usual routine then!!!]. Fortunately, I was able to calm his enthusiasm reminding him our combined ages are now 136 years and, thankfully as far as I am concerned, we eventually settled on the 84 mile walk that follows the line and remains of Hadrian's Wall - the SHORTEST possible option I believe. Then we decided it would be a good idea to try and raise funds for a good cause off the back of this self appointed challenge.
We agreed on seeking to raise money from all those who remain and we have known through life for Macmillan Cancer Support. The first reason being that we have both had direct experience of loved ones having received and greatly appreciated the invaluable help and counselling given by Macmillan nurses at what was arguably the most difficult times of their lives and a second being the fact that we plan to finish the walk and return home on September 25th which is just the day before the national coffee morning event organised by Macmillan Cancer support.
AND THAT'S WHERE WE ASK FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND HELP.........For any donation you feel you are able to make either as an individual or a business to help ensure the continuance and development of the services Macmillan Cancer Support provide, both Graeme and I say a heartfelt 'THANK YOU'.
I will let you know how we get on in due course!!
