Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So, let me share this story with you. I haven't cycled in over 2 years. I don't even own a bicycle. I didn't intend to get one anytime soon. I just couldn't stomach the thought of an aching body after cycling a few miles. So I hope you understand why for a long time, seeing loads of emails inviting me to cycle 45 miles was a really bad joke. All those emails ended in my recycle bin. I just unashamedly ignored them. But then one afternoon, at approximately 5.30pm, still head down getting out a presentation for a committee meeting the following day, I was hit by this extreme urge to go out there and support a good cause regardless of how daunting.

After deliberating for a while, I reached out to a friend who offered to lend me their bicycle. And that was it. Deal done! On the 13th, with my heart pounding in my chest, I will cycle form one palace to the other, gallantly! Ignoring those aching muscles, brushing the sweat off my brows with one hand as I balance the cycle with the other.

Wait a second! I don't even know how I am going to get to work the following morning with that body ache I probably will have. But hey, there are many vulnerable young people out there that need a hand. And I know you will support me to raise funds that will go a massive way towards taking care of them. C'mon, guys. Lets do this together. Please donate towards this great cause.

Last year 236 riders from my company, Accenture raised £70, 000. I am proud to be riding with them this year. And I am trusting that whatever amount you help me raise will make a massive difference.

The Prince's Trust supports 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school. Many of the young people helped by The Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or they have been in trouble with the law.

The Trust’s programmes give vulnerable young people the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives, helping develop self-esteem and skills for work.

I can't wait to share the story with you when I cross the finish line.
