The British Heart Foundation Peaks Challenge is set to take place across the national park on March 12, and while I'm a keen mountain biker, the event will be my first-ever charity challenge. I try and get up to the Peaks when I can to do 10-20 miles and it’s a fantastic place to go cycling, but I think this is going to be the hardest ride of my life.
Since signing up for the challenge at the end of 2015, I have managed more than 300 miles of training around the fens. However, I'm not underestimating the hilly Yorkshire course, which will cover more than 40 miles off-road, including 2,200 meters of hill climbs. I’ll be really pleased if I manage to complete the course in around seven hours, but there’s no telling what the weather conditions might be like – if it’s wet the going will be seriously tough. I'm urging supporters to help me with his final training push.
There's still time to donate and spur me on to complete more training miles before the big day on in March. Not only will your generosity give me a final boost to the starting line, but you’ll be supporting a great charity that helps thousands of people each year.
