We Raise funds and awareness to cure Hyper IgM Syndrome

Story

Hi guys,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm looking to raise money in memory of my good friends son ALFIE that sadly passed away recently.

Alfie was born with a very rare immune deficiency called X Linked Hyper IGM syndrome. This is a condition that only effects males and makes them very vulnerable to catching illnesses and infections due to them having a very weakened immune system.
Alfie was on weekly medicines and had regular hospital visits to help keep infections at bay but
The only cure for this condition was either a bone marrow or stem cell transplant.
In November 2020 after a very long wait, a matched donor was found and Alfie had his transplant at Great Ormond Street hospital.
Nearly a year on post transplant Alfie was battling with many health issues and had spent best part of the year in hospital and on October 31st 2021 after along hard fight Alfie sadly on passed away on Halloween evening.

Therefore in memory of Alfie in December I will be running a marathon doing the 3 peaks challenge with a 10kg weighted vest then swimming from Bournemouth to Boscombe pier on Christmas Eve to help raise awareness and money for this very rare condition.

So I'm asking for as many people as possible to dig deep and donate as much as possible to go towards research for this condition.
