Story
Several women who I have worked with have bravely informed me of their experiences of rape. Some of them have been helped on their path with the support of the Rape Crisis service and I wanted to do my bit to help.
I (like many people) was unaware of the levels at which this crime occurs and the deep, life long impact it can have on those it is perpetrated against.
I have also seen the resilience of the human spirit when it is offered help, support and guidance.
The more services like this can be supported, the bigger the impact they will have and the better the world and society we live in will be.
I am fundraising for Rape Crisis England & Wales to stand in solidarity with victims and survivors of sexual violence. Rape and sexual abuse are devastating crimes but are unfortunately not uncommon. 1 in 5 women have been raped or sexually assaulted as an adult. Rape Crisis England & Wales:- Raises awareness of the prevalence and impact of sexual violence and abuse in all its forms.- Advocates for systems change to create better responses in justice, health, education and across society- Ensure that specialist support is available
