Story
For the past 15 months I have been working as a physiotherapist at the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Trafford. During this time, I have witnessed the amount of hard work and dedication it takes to keep the centre running. This is often carried out by volunteers, many of whom also have MS themselves. This ranges from the cleaning of the centre, facilitating therapy classes to managing the overheads and endless fundraising. The charity is in the process of moving premises and they are trying to raise close to £1 million to refurbish the site and equip it with relevant equipment. This will allow for more dedicated therapy services as well as continue to be a place for many MS sufferers to meet and socialise. In my opinion, this is invaluable for those who are often left with a diagnosis and not a great deal of support to manage their life long condition. The MSTC have great aspirations to build on their development to date and I would love to help them see their new centre come to fruition.
