Story
I was born with a form of congenital heart disease. I started to go as blue as an avatar because my two main blood vessels leaving the heart, the pulmonary artery, and the aorta, were the wrong way round. Therefore, as a young, chubby, blue baby, I was cut open and my major blood vessels were switched.
Being born in 1996, this surgery was not necessarily new or ground-breaking, however it was not always successful. I was lucky enough to be rushed to the specialists at Brompton Hospital and operated on successfully. Others, in more deprived areas or without access to specialists, were not so lucky. Therefore, I am running on behalf of those individuals and their families. Further, I am running to raise money to help fund and find new technologies & treatments which can save the lives of others.
