Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.

We will be taking part in the RideLondon - Surrey 100 Cycle Sportive on the 30th July 2017 in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Tamara's Story

In July 2016 I joined a gym and now, what will be twelve months on, I will be taking part in Ride London, a 100 mile bike ride.  That’s right, me, the one who has barely sat on a bike in the last twenty years and spent most of my spare time sat on a sofa watching the TV thinking exercise was something for someone else.

I have decided to do this to raise as much money as I can for an extremely worthy cause.  The help and support that the charity gives is amazing and I just hope that I can give something back to them for everything they have done for someone who meant a lot to me.

So please give what you can and encourage me with your support.

Joe's Story

You're probably thinking why should you sponsor me, a keen cyclist who isn't shy of cycling 100 miles.....where's the challenge?  Well, yes, it is true I cycle a bit but it's usually under different circumstances.  Usually I'm riding with cyclists who can work together and take the some of the strain.   Not here.   I'm going to be the one doing most of the work for the 100 miles making sure Tamara makes it round.

So, I would ask, don't dismiss my part in this challenge it will be demanding but for slightly different reasons and, after all it is all for a massively worthy cause.

Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.  Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.  Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.  So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
