Story
In August me and my brother shall be doing our most challenging event to date and participating in :-
Hell On The Humber, it is a 12 hour endurance race where you complete as many miles as you can, around a 4 mile loop track. The track takes you over a traffic-free Humber Bridge and back down the other side, all of which will be done at night. I am hoping to complete between 60-80 miles which is the equivalent of running 2 1/2 - 3 marathons BACK TO BACK.
I’m going to be raising money for Children’s heart Surgery Fund (chsf), it is based at Leeds General Infirmary and provides things from vital equipment such as high-tech ultrasound machines which enable medics to see blood vessels clearly during cardiac surgery to parent accommodation so that parents can stay nearby whilst their child is in hospital.
I am raising money for chsf because my brother’s friends are not so lucky and have relied on help from them (chsf) when their son was born. There little boy was born with truncus arteriosus (a rare type of congenital heart disease) and a hole in his heart.
