Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am fundraising for St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley; a local charity with big ambition. St Catherine’s vision is for a world where everyone facing death and bereavement can do so informed, supported and pain free. 

For those who have been following my mum's (Lisa Fry) story, you will know in 2019 her latest smear test was all clear. Recently this year it came to light that she has a tumour in Cervix, originally what was once diagnosed as a kidney stone. From her persistence she was then diagnosed with Cervical Cancer (the dreaded word we all fear). This was a massive shock to herself and the family that happened so quickly especially as she is the fittest, healthiest & kind hearted person we know, it just goes to show it can happen to anyone!!

When mum first learnt of the Cancer it was a lot to take in and process, emotional and physical pain has been the hardest part for her. Its has now come to light that it's aggressively growing and spreading, from what she thought was Stage 2 Cervical Cancer is now Stage 3c which has decreased the survival rate to 30-50%.

I know from bottom the of my heart she will do the best she can to fight for this not only for herself but for her children. She has her first set of treatment in mid April (fingers crossed). Knowing we can't physically help her we plan on starting our training on her first set of Chemo & Radiotherapy to then complete our bike ride when her treatment finishes.

She is the strongest woman we know, the bravest to be going through this, but she's not alone. That's why we want to raise money for St Catherines Hospice. Mum has always been saying how helpful and responsive they've been with her during this horrendous time for her.
