Story
In lieu of flowers we ask for people, if they can, to donate to the charity Nacro. Nacro provide practical help and personalised support through their education, housing, justice, and health and well-being services.
Jo recently volunteered at Nacro Greater Manchester Outdoor Learning, in Wythenshawe Park, doing bushcraft skills with children, just before Easter weekend. She made quite an impression, as all who knew her can well imagine, with her joyous engagement, kindness, and desire to help the children to enjoy the world around them.
Jo loved a challenge and to be out in nature, wild swimming, foraging, and hiking; she was brave and would have a go at anything. She also cared passionately about social justice and building caring communities.
Greater Manchester Outdoor Learning provides adventure-based learning for schools, colleges and the wider community, including coaching and training in kayaking, canoeing, mountaineering, cycling, and mountain biking.
As we know, Jo would never want anybody to give more than they are able to, and times are financially hard for many, so please don't feel any undue pressure to donate if it isn't possible for you at the moment.
