Forth Bridge Abseil 2017 for CHAS · 28 May 2017 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page.
My wee sister Dawn has been going to Rachel House Children's Hospice in Kinross for about 5 years. She goes for respite where we can spend time together as a family without having to worry about feeds or medications, and where we can all get a decent nights sleep.
Dawn loves going and has a great time, mainly because she loves that her bed can move and she can be in the middle of everything that is going on without having to even get out her bed :) but she also loves all the activities, the snoozelen, the jacuzzi, and the care and attention shown by all the staff.
We also see the difference that Rachel House makes to other families, those that don't have any support at home, or those who are spending the end of their child's life there, and the difference that CHAS makes to all these different families.
As well as the hospice, Dawn also spends time with the CHAS at home team, who take her out to different places (she's 14 - she doesn't always want us tagging along!) so she can do things with her friends from school.
So on 28th May, I will be abseiling off the Forth Rail Bridge, with Dawn watching from the bottom, to raise money for CHAS to help them be able to continue to provide the amazing services that they do.
Dawn's friend Harry also goes to Rachel House, often at the same time as Dawn, so his brother Connor will also be doing the abseil for CHAS at the same time :)
