Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Brain tumours are the second most common form of cancer in children, second only to leukaemia, with over 400 children in the UK diagnosed every year. Thanks to ever advancing medical techniques and research, survival rates have more than doubled between the 1960's and the early 2000s. Now, 65% of children diagnosed with a brain tumour live for more than 5 years after diagnosis.
The Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust (SDBTT) is the UK's leading charity dedicated to brain tumour research and providing patient information and support (children and adults). I have chosen this charity in the hope that the research undertaken will help further improve survival rates, and possibly one day even find a cure. If you can dig deep, or as deep as you can in these times of austerity, and sponsor me a little for my Lymm 10k run.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity
I completed the Lymm 10k in 1hr and 3min's on Sunday 15th April, hard work but satisfying. Thank you for the support throughout the race and at the end from my wonderful family (thank you for my medal Lucas!). Thank you to all that have donated. Those who have not yet had time to donate can still do so for several months after this event.
