I am running the Virgin London Marathon to support the Royal Free Hospital Kidney Patients Association. I have chosen this charity because the fantastic Renal Team at the Royal Free performed a life saving kidney transplant operation for my brother-in-law, Tony Jones in January this year.

In 2009 Tony's kidneys began to fail and at the end of 2011 he was diagnosed with renal failure. January 2012 Tony began Peritoneal Dialysis which drastically reduced his quality of life for the following two years. It has been a very worrying time for the whole family, especially my sister Karen, their children Amy and Nick.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a BIG Thank You to all Tony's family and friends who volunteered to be tested during the last two years in the hope they could donate a kidney too. Especially to Mark, who unselfishly donated one of his kidney's to Tony on January 8th 2014, his wife Janice and their children for supporting him throughout.

I would like to end by asking you to dig deep and support me and the marvellous work of the Royal Free Hospital Kidney Patients Association - in my third and LAST Marathon!!
