Marriott’s Way – A Marathon Hike in a Day
We are supporting the Woodland Garden project at the new Big C's development in Norwich. The centre will provide invaluable services for cancer patients & their families.
Unfortunately, statics are that 1 in 2 of us will suffer from cancer in our lives and we all know someone who has been affected by this terrible illness or is currently receiving treatment for cancer. As many of you are aware our families have been directly affected by cancer and we understand the invaluable support that the Big C offer to so many. We will be walking Marriott’s Way from Aylsham to the Big C Centre, Dereham Road, Norwich, which is approximately 26 miles on Saturday 14 May 2022 and hoping that lots of family, friends and others join us to raise as much as we can for the Big C.
The Big C began building work in July 2021 and it is hoped that it will only be a matter of months before this state-of-the-art support centre in Norwich is open to cancer patients and their families. This new centre will provide services in conjunction with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, providing valuable support through various activities. Tranquil, outdoor spaces offer so much comfort when faced with hard to deal with news and during challenging times and we are very excited that the money we raise will go directly to developing the Woodland Garden and other outside areas dedicated to providing a holistic space for cancer patients and families to visit.
We really hope you can join us on the 14th of May, it will be a fun day walking with friends and hopefully meeting new ones, along the old disused railway line between Aylsham and Norwich. If you wish to only join for part of the walk, please let us know and we can arrange to meet you along the way! If you know of anyone who wants to participate, the more the merrier we just ask that everyone pledges a minimum amount of £45. Of course, the more we raise by sponsorship the more we can give the Big C!
Thank you in advance, every penny helps and please provide your details if you are eligible for gift aid.
