Izzy is going to read 75 books this summer to help raise money for school’s new pens. She started this when school broke up and she’s absolutely smashing. I think it helps that I’ve told her for every 25 she reads we can get milkshakes or pancakes!  

I will keep you updated with her progress and will even post her reading a few books on Facebook.

Save our Pens!No! we aren't trying to save biros :-) We mean the outdoor fenced sports space at the side of the school known as the pens (or Multi-use games area if you want official terminology)The pens are in dire need of some refurbishment, particularly resurfacing in order to keep them safe for our kids to play games and sports as part of their PE lessons, after school clubs and free play time. They are so popular with the children that there is a rota giving each class their 'pen day'. They would be a huge loss to the school and children if we were unable to raise the funds for the refurbishment and they had to be closed.
