Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have never run a Half Marathon before. I have competed in a 5k (3 mile) charity event in June 2011, but once it became cold and the clocks went back in October 2011, I hang up my running shoes. Friends of mine are running in the Surrey Half Marathon and I have recently (since mid October 2014) started to run with them to keep them company and spur them on. I have been inspired by them and the story behind Team KC to join the team, which was started due to the a tragic event which happened on 10th August 2014. Kris Cook went out to complete 100 miles on the Prudential Ride and was raising awareness and money for the Woking Hospice.
Unfortunately Kris never completed the ride due to a heart attack, unbeknown to him and his team mates.
Team KC has been set up to help remember Kris and what he did and how he helped the Woking Hospice, also for his family and friends that he left behind.
This team has been created by Krista Lougher who is a friend of Nicola Tait (Kris partner in life and cycling), runners include Kris friends, family, cycling team and other runners who have been touched by the tragic story of Kris and who want to run in his memory.
I never met Kris, but I have been touched by his story and I want to run in his memory to help raise money for Woking Hospice. I also feel privaledged and honourered to be part of the team.
If you can spare any money, even if it’s £1, it would be highly appreciated.
