Dad developed Coronavirus symptoms in early March. When these worsened, he was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital where he was soon moved from a ward to the ICU. Dad was treated in ICU for 12 days. He was sedated and ventilated throughout and because of the situation, we were unable to visit him or talk to him again. Although the staff were so busy, we managed to get an update on Dad’s condition each day and it was a comfort to know that although we couldn’t be there, he wasn’t alone at the end and that the team cared for him in the most professional and dedicated way.
