Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I signed up for this 10K back in 2020……….. now 2 years older I’ll
give it my best shot but felt if I took the opportunity to do a bit of
fundraising along the way it would spur me on.
I have decided to raise funds for two hugely important charities. The easiest way to do this was to set up 2 pages – one for the Beatson Cancer Charity and the other for Alzheimers’ Research UK. You are currently visiting my page for the Beatson but if you’d prefer to donate to my page for Alzheimers’ Research UK please go to the following page:

This is not the first time I’ve raised funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity since my cancer diagnosis back in 2016. I just really wanted to give something back to them as not only did they provide me with treatment and care back then and in my recovery but in more recent times they proved just how quickly they were there for speedy investigation and reassurance.
A cancer diagnosis is a traumatic and life-changing event, not
just for the patient, but also for their family.
Beatson Cancer Charity provides a comprehensive range of wellbeing
and specialist services including complementary therapies, specialist health and work support and specialist activities delivered by charity staff and volunteers.
Beatson Cancer Charity also works in close partnership with clinicians
and researchers at the The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and The Beatson institute for Cancer Research (where I'm proud to say my niece Joanna is currently studying her Master's) to help deliver life-saving research.
The pandemic has meant that Charities have missed out on a lot of funds due to cancelled events that it has been a difficult time for them but I also appreciate it’s a difficult time for many so no pressure to donate but if you can spare a couple of pounds it will be much appreciated.
