And I wasn't last 45/50 (21 minutes) and Janet achieved a commendable 21/50 (14 minutes)!

I'm going to join in the Swim for all Event in Wakefield raising money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Janet, my friend from work, suggested the swim, and back in March it seemed like a good idea and a good way to mark this significant year in my life.

Also in the past few years cancer of different types has had a tragic affect on the lives on friends of mine and anything I can contribute to the fight to understand it and to find cures I feel is worthwhile.

I specially think of Jill and of Alex with love.

This is obiously where you come in!

Spare a thought for us - a sunny day, sun glinting off the water - in a lake in Wakefield - only 500m about 20 lengths of the baths. We'll ignore the sobering pundits with ideas of not such idyllic weather(says they'll postpone it, if it's tooo bad!). I was doing fine till they started talking about Wetsuits!...

Our Catering department at Hopwood Hall baked some cakes, ingredients funded by ur department, and Julie and students sold them to passing people in the foyer! - we made £45! well done and many thanks to all of you!

26/06/11 first open water swim - Janet and I joined 'uswim' at Salford. She was a blur of pink in the distance, but I did it but it was hard! - no lifeboat, but a hoist to get me out would have been good!
