Story
Hello and welcome to my JustGiving page!
This July I will be climbing Schiehallion, the Munroe in Scotland, in memory of my darling Dad - David Pearson - who passed away last August after a long and hard battle with various illnesses.
We have been visiting Rannoch as a family since my childhood and my own children have now stayed in the same houses and enjoyed the same views and adventures I did as a child. <3
In all the times we visited Rannoch we saw Schiehallion constantly and never managed to climb it.
But now I'm going to do just that, with my camera in hand to capture the view from the top, in memory of my Dad.
In preparation I joined the gym at the start of the year and this former exercise-phobic has already lost 10kg and actually really enjoys going to the gym! Shocking, I know!!
Part of this challenge is a personal one, to prove to myself that I can do what I set my mind to and to make my Dad proud. But I realised that while I'm trying to help improve my own health and show a good example to my own little girls, why not try to raise some money for a good cause as well.
And this is where you come in! :D It might be a fiver it might be a little bit more, whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated by the RSPB and will mean a great deal to me as well.
I'll be keeping you updated with my progress at the gym and as soon as I have a firm date for the climb I'll add it here too!
I should also say that a large part of the motivation and support has come from the My Peak Challenge initiative, set up by the Scottish actor Sam Heughan which aims to help raise money for Bloodwise - a great charity helping to fight blood cancer. I have already donated to their cause and really appreciate the advice and encouragement that MPC has given me!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
