Story
Jo - For those that don’t know me too well, I absolutely hate being cold and getting dirty! I am a fair-weather walker and being outside getting wet and muddy is far from my ideal day off, so when my friend Kayleigh asked me if I’d do Tough Mudder UK with her 4 days before the event I thought, I can’t leave my girl out there to do this on her own, can I? No, I can’t. So, on Sunday 16th April we are taking part in a 5k obstacle course at Finsbury Park, London and we'd like to do this whilst raising some money for an incredible charity, Hundred Families. We have 48 hours to raise some money in memory of my gorgeous boy, Harley whom I miss and think about every day of my life. Hundred Families are the only charity that support and advocate for families across the UK who have all lost loved ones as a result of killings by people with mental illness, with 0% government funding. they work with the NHS and others to prevent further avoidable tragedies. And they provide evidence, training, and resources to influence change. There are circa 600 homicides a year and 20% are mental health homicides. That’s 1 in 5!
Please donate to our just giving page and support this incredible charity. Even if it’s just £1. If every person on my Facebook page donated £1 then I’d have £686 to donate to this incredible charity that has helped me gain answers to why my son lost his life in December 2019.
Wish us luck, we'll need it!
