Story

Thank-you so much to everyone who has donated! The countdown has begun..4 days to go! Picked up my race number and tag from the excel centre this evening, so nothing else to do apart from rest and eat buckets of pasta.

Feeling excited and can't wait to get to the start line. I'll be wearing an orange top and my number is 54230 if you're interested (you can also download the London marathon app and track me..) 😁 Thanks for everyone's support!

Roughly five weeks ago, on a cold, wet Sunday afternoon (while stuffing my face with left over Christmas chocolates), I found out that I had a place in this years Virgin London Marathon. So on Sunday 26th April I will be running 26.2 miles through our wonderful city, all in the aid of charity.

After having a pretty lazy winter, the thought of running 5 miles was daunting enough.. the rest I wouldn't dare to think about.

The training started the following day and minus a slight calf injury it has not been too bad. Although I'm joining the brave runners down in Lydd this Sunday for a jolly half marathon, so that 'not too bad' could change to just bad!

I'm lucky enough to have secured a place in the London Marathon, as people apply for years and years and never get the chance. For that, I have The Canterbury Oast Trust to thank who managed to secure me a place.
The Canterbury Oast Trust are a charity for disabled people in Kent, who do their best to provide accomodation, jobs and a normal way of life to disabled people and their families. They do a fantastic job but solely rely on donations and fund raising events to continue their work. Without these donations, they would not be able to provide the support needed by many disabled people.

That is why I am running 26.2 miles in April, to raise awareness and a bit of cash for a truly amazing charity who deserve the recognition for the work they do.

If you wouldn't mind donating what ever you can and sponsor me to run the London Marathon, not only will you be helping me across the finishing line, but you will be supporting a great cause.

I was lucky enough to visit the COT after my triathlon last summer to deliver the money we raised, and they were over the moon and so very grateful. I would love the opportunity to raise some more money for them to continue their amazing work. Thank-you for reading my story & for supporting the COT.
