Story
Fibromyalgia is a recognised chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue. A common illness. The exact cause of fibromyalgia is unknown, but it's thought to be related to abnormal levels of certain chemicals in the brain and changes in the way the central nervous system (the brain, spinal cord and nerves) processes pain messages carried around the body, It's also suggested that some people are more likely to develop fibromyalgia because of genes inherited from their parents, In many cases, the condition appears to be triggered by a physically or emotionally stressful event, such as:
•an injury or infection
•giving birth
•having a breakdown of a relationship
•the death of a loved one
The pain tends to be felt as diffuse aching or burning, often head to toe, although may also change location, usually becoming more severe in parts of the body that are used most, or staying in one position to long, so mornings can be very painful. Myself, I've had it for a few years, but it seems to be getting worse........as I have finally been diagnosed, I want to make my charity raising event this year to FMA . As its what they call an "invisible condition" people often think when they see you.....oh there's nothing wrong with her/him! she/he can still do everything other people can do!.....but with fibromyalgia you have good and bad days!
symptoms often include: unrefreshing sleep, headaches, irritable bowel, cognitive disturbances, clumsiness. Bouts of depression and pain in particular ares OR all over.
I am giving up alcohol for 12 months, but also I shall have a half way through...........6 months into my challenge......... fundraising tea/coffee & cakes event 🧁.....plus a few other ideas during the 12 month period, which I shall share as and when the time comes! Thank you for reading and for your support 💫
