Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having Walked the Walk (twice) for breast cancer charities, Just Walked for the ME Association, and spurred on by cousin Beth's outstanding achievement in the London 2 Brighton Challenge last year, I've dusted off the walking shoes once more!
This year, I've decided to do a little bit to help this remarkable blue-green ball we call home. On Sat 2 July, I'm going to join the London 2 Cambridge Challenge and do the first 50km (approx. 31 miles) of the challenge route, starting near the Olympic Park, Stratford, heading along the Lee Valley path, through the village where we live, and on to Braughing.
To make it more 'interesting', I've set myself the extra challenge of jogging 1/3 of the distance. Might not sound much, but this is a Harwood here, and Harwoods Do Not Run!
I'm raising money for The Woodland Trust. They are the UK's largest woodland conservation charity, campaigning to protect ancient woodlands, restore those that are damaged and fight for those under threat. They create new native woodland, and aim to inspire people to visit woods, plant trees, treasure wildlife and enjoy the benefits that woods & trees bring to the landscape.
Any support, especially financial, will be gratefully received - after all, as The Woodland Trust say, Life is Better with Trees!
