Five years ago ny mum died quite unexpectedly from cancer, a shock to all of the family. Six months later my dad was diagnosed with Age Related Macular Degeneration, a progressive disease. Although he still receives regular injections in his eyes he has had to give up driving and has now been registered partially sighted. This does not stop him doing things - he still likes to travel and do gardening but he finds it increasing difficult to read or watch the television. My father in law also has this condition and visits the same hospital, so when they meet up they can compare treatment!
