My partner Keith has been living with MS since 1977 being formally diagnosed in 2003. I have had association with the disease since the early 1990’s but only in the last four years with Keith have I begun to understand the implications MS can have on your life. As an holistic therapist it has always been my belief that quality of life is as important as quantity. For the last 3 years I have been volunteering on the Helpline at MS National Centre and regularly take calls reminding me how much practical, financial and social support is needed at local level for our MSers.
That’s why I’ve decided to take on the challenge of the Firewalk in Ipswich. I want to raise awareness that MS is a disease that affects over 100,000 people in this country and to raise money for the MS Society, both at national level and locally – our South Suffolk Branch. For someone who struggles to walk across a stoney beach with no shoes this really will be a challenge!
I know many beautiful people living and working with MS. They are an inspiration to us all, so I ask you to please give whatever you can, however small to make living with MS just that little bit easier
