Story
Holding the Line is a celebration of feminism through poetry and the live arts, organised by The Persisters - a newly established network of feminist poets and artists. We are intersectional and inclusive. We are concerned about the turning tide in the rights of women and all minorities.
‘Holding the Line’ will be a day of artistic activism and excellence, fund-raising and spirit-raising. During the day, well-known poets will perform alongside newer poets in a series of sponsored poetry readings about women, their lives and their rights.
I am reading at 7.45pm alongside 43 other poets to raise money for Womens Aid.
From 8pm onwards, invited guests will lead us into an evening of live music, comedy, poetry and mayhem, culminating in a party with more music and dancing. There will be wild words, balloon animals and a cocktail created specially for the occasion!
Any donation you can give, no matter how big or small, is most welcomed
Entry to the event itself is free, so please join us on the day for poetry, play, laughter and conversation.
