Story
Hi Guys,
I'm going to the Philippines in February for three months to work with the Gualandi Volunteer Service Programme in partnership with VSO Baghaginan as they help improve circumstances for deaf people in the capital city of Cebu.
Their facebook and vso pages are here if you want to read about their work and the people they help:

The three months are going to involve placements such community educational sessions, promoting deaf peoples access to services and rights and sexual abuse prevention. I'll also be learning Philipino Sign Language in order to be more use to the organization.
This whole programme is part of a wider government initiative to get young people volunteering abroad and is almost completely funded by the Department for International Development. In order to show a commitment to the cause however, I need to raise £800 (that's 89p a friend!) which will go back into the project to enable more young people to volunteer abroad. I'm currently in a bag packing, car boot sale-ing, over-time frenzy but if you have any spare cash to donate to the cause, I would be eternally grateful.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
