Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in a 10,000 ft Tandem Skydive to raise money for Mind - The Mental Health Charity in memory of our unforgettable friend Mix who we lost last year.
I've chosen to do a skydive because I'm petrified of heights (bad choice, I know) but it will be a challenge to overcome this fear for an amazing cause.
Many people are fighting an inner battle that unfortunately we cannot see or they may not be able to speak about. Over 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem in our lifetime.
Mind aims to improve mental health support for those suffering, increase the understanding of mental health and awareness of different mental health problems.
Here's what your donations can provide:
£10 - helps the charity to campaign for better support services, talking therapy and crisis care for those who need it.
£21 - helps the charity's supportive online community (Elefriends) run for one hour, giving people the chance to get hugely valuable peer support.
£39 - allows the charity's Infoline call handlers to answer 5 phone calls, often in desperate need of support, to help them find the support they need and a way forward.
Here are just a few examples of the great work that Mind do:
- Offering a Telephone Support Service to anyone in need.
- Campaigning for change in mental health services including legislation, support, treatment and legal rights.
- Offer mental health training courses for the workplace to help employers and employees understand the signs of mental health distress and be aware of how they can support their colleagues.
- Offer a support website called 'Two in Mind' for Mum's to be, to help them deal with the stresses of pregnancy.
Please, if you have anything to spare for this amazing cause - donate now!
Thank you for all of your support and donations.
Much Love, Jess x
