NB. I am running London 2012 Marathon after deferring my place from 2011 due to injury

I am up to 20 miles in training and feeling good! I am running for a very small but vital charity called Ostomy Lifestyle. My best friend had to have an ileostomy at the age of 29 and now lives with an ostomy bag. This charity helped her and continues to help other people of all ages to live an active lifestyle post stoma-surgery.

The money you donate goes directly to the charity to help fund awareness, get people connected and tell them where they can find help and support in their area of the UK. The charity also donates unwanted ostomy supplies to projects in Africa where men and women struggle to find the medical care they need let alone the support of a friendly voice on the other end of the phone.

Ostomy Lifestyle is a UK charity that was established in 2007. They provide support, advice and information to anyone affected by stoma surgery on their bowel or bladder.

 An estimated 22,000 people have a colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy operation in the UK every year. Stoma surgery can affect anyone, regardless of age, race, or profession.
