Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have to admit that when I was unsuccessful in the London Marathon ballot I breathed a bit of a sigh of relief. After assuming I had once again been unsuccessful with my charity applications (and therefore off the hook) I was caught off guard by the Anthony Nolan Trust one cold December afternoon. I am ashamed to say that I initially turned the place down, fearing that I would not have time to train or to raise the required £1700. After a pep talk from my seriously athletic husband, I tentatively called back and confirmed my place.
So here I am a month on. In this time I've become very familiar with every contour of Clapham Common as well as some very chilly running conditions. I'm not a natural runner but there is something very addictive about running and it's amazing how quickly you can get better. Whilst I am still regularly overtaken by Jack Wills clad 20 somethings (you know the type) I feel that I'm well on the way to at least being able to keep going for 26+ miles on 17 April 2011.
So to support me in this journey and donate to a truly exceptional charity (see details on the left), please make your donation here.
