Story
I work for a fantastic company that believes in giving back to the communities we serve but more importantly I'm committed to shining a light on childhood cancer- the most underfunded cancer in the world and ironically the area that could have the greatest impact on all cancer research. I lost a close childhood friend to leukemia 25 years ago and children and their families are still suffering from the diesease and the effects of adult-sized treatments. I believe we can do much better and my run through muck and mud in the middle of a rainy London winter is just the start.
CLIC Sargent is a wonderful UK-based foundation that supports children with cancer and their families. As an American living in England, I want to do something back home as well so for every pound donated to CLIC Sargent, I am also personally donating $1USD to the Paxton Andrews Foundation. The world lost Paxton to cancer just shy of his 5 month birthday- his momma, whom I know personally, keeps his spirit alive. Read and be moved to action like I was: http://warriormomma.com/paxton/. You donate once and 2 great causes on 2 different continents will benefit!!!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity.
I'm running this race in honour of Paxton. I hope you will join me in a crusade to stop childhood cancer from being under-funded and under-recognised.
Thank you!
