Story
Hi Everyone! As some of you may or may not know, I have recently spent two weeks on an expedition in Cornwall with CVQO working alongside the Westminster Award. While on the expedition we had the opportunity to work with six amazing charities all of which make significant contributions to their local communities and help to influence and shape the future.
In order to raise money for these charities, myself and fellow finalists will be creating our own personal challenges in hope of raising a grand total of £2000.
On Saturday 20th August 2022, I will be challenging myself to 24 hours of continuous exercise. The challenge will be far from easy however I am determined to push myself out of my comfort zone in hope of raising money and making a small contribution to the wider project.
The charities of which you will be contributing to;
The Wave Project - The Wave Project is an organisation devoted to providing surf therapy to disadvantaged kids in need. It provides support in building self- esteem, resilience, confidence and positive functioning in social situations.
National Trust - The National Trust is Europe's biggest conservation charity, protecting hundreds of green spaces, houses and almost a million objects. They care for and manage these places for the benefit of the people and the environment.
Surfers against sewage - Surfers against Sewage is a marine conservation charity that teaches and empowers local teams and communities to learn how to protect their oceans and beaches. They also contribute to cleaner beaches and have pledged to clean thousands of beaches all around the UK.
Shelter Box - ShelterBox is a relief aid charity that provides emergency shelter to those displaced by war, climate emergencies and other devastating crises.
Eden Project - The Eden project is an educational charity that aims to build an understanding of the relationship between the natural world and people.
Cornwall Wildlife Trust - The Cornwall Wildlife trust is a charity dedicated to protecting Cornish native lands and sea. As well as their native species of plants and animals.
Any donations however big or small would be extremely well appreciated. Thank You!
