UPDATE: 26 APRIL 2010
Dear all. Just to say that I have completed the marathon in an official time of 6 hours, 48 minutes. Not the fastest, but the best I could do especially when my feet gave up on me and I hobbled the last third or so of the race. However, I do have a finisher's medal and a limp to show for it. It was a wonderful experience and the spectator support was a large part of it and I wouldn't have finished without it. I would love to do it again, if the body was willing.
My thanks to all who have wished me well before the race. I couldn't have done it without your encouragement too, so many thanks to you all.
I hope you will be able to support my chosen charity, which is a worthy one. Many thanks in advance for your generosity.
Kind regards,
Jeremy
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising site. I've been lucky enough to get a place in this year's London Marathon. I've been training hard (for me!) so as not to embarass myself and am looking forward to race day.
As some of you know, my father-in-law, George very recently passed away tragically after a short illness. He ran a charity darts league for over 30 years and raised a lot of money for local charities in Whitby, North Yorkshire. I intend to honour his memory by running this year's marathon in his memory and raise money for one of these charities. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is one of the charities that the darts league supported. It is supported purely by charitable donations and any money raised would keep the helicopters in the air and helping those in need.
Please donate what you can. Every penny you give will go to the charity, including the GIft Aid bit.
I'll update this webpage from time to time so please come back and read my updates!
Your donation is much appreciated. Many thanks!
