Story
Hi, I'm Jenny, here goes for another winter of swimming outdoors in just a swimsuit, I'm signing up for the Polar Bear Challenge again.
I'll be going for Arctic Polar Bear again which involves outdoor swimming from 1st November to 31st March. I will have to swim a minimum of 2 seperate swims of 250m plus a minimum total of 3000m per month for each month of the challange, in outdoor waters (in my case that will be the sea/sea pool) in only an ordinary swimming costume. More details about the polar bear challenge can be found here https://polarbearchallenges.com/challenges
This time I'll be hoping to raise as much as possible for First Light. I want to stress what a wonderful job those at First Light do. I wish more people where aware they exist, like many others I was also unaware of the help they give until a year ago. Id like to give something back for all they have done and continue to do, and bring awareness to the services they provide.
I will say I do again need the focus doing this challenge will bring me even if I am a little reluctant to brave the cold, the first winter I did this the sea temperature reached a low of only 4°C. I will update on here the max./min. water temperatures and the total monthly distance I've swam that month, also a final total distance covered for the winter at the end of march. Hopefully I'll make it through till the end of March and complete the challenge, (ohh the things I do to get a badge and a certificate 😂).
Please give generously if you can, no amount is to small, and if you can't I ask that you spread awareness of First Light and the services they provide.
