Story
My name is Jenny Barty. Tthanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page once more.
I first got involved with Thames Hospicecare about four years ago when hospices country-wide organised a "cream tea at 3.00" fund raining event. Since then I have never looked back. I now work as a regular volunteer at Thames Hospicecare, helping with flower arranagements for patients and once a week I assist with opening post and logging money.
Over the past few years I have taken on some different challenges to raise money for this important charity. I have completed at tandem skydive from 13,000ft and walked the length of the Great Wall of China over a six day period ending with a 200m high zip slide over a reservoir. ( Ieven managed a taboggan run!).
This next event-trekking in Nepal-is going to be an even bigger challenge as this time I will be camping in a tent. (the last time I did that was with the Girl Guides!). Washing and toilet facilities are going to be rather primitive and I won't be able to wash my hair for 6 days at least! Temperatures are going to be varied with a possible 20/25 degrees during the day and below freezing overnight.
The bonus will be the spectacular views of Mount Everest and hopefully some beautiful sunsets. At the end of the trek we are staying on for 3 days at the Chitwan National Park and I will be able to experience an elephant safari and a canoe trip down the river. This extra 3 days and the entire trek are, of course, self funded.
All sponsorship money raised will go directly the Thames Hospicecare
