Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
To support our buddy Win and the amazing work of the A-T Society, as a class, school community and as his friend, we are running the Buckswood School Mini Run again this year. This is part of the 39th Hastings Half Marathon.
The children at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary school, his friends, along with the main Hulk himself Win, will dress as Mini Hulk's and run the 2.5km Route. They are aiming to turn it green 💚 have lots of fun, and raise a few pennies to support the amazing work of the A-T Society.
The number of Mini Hulk's continues to grow. The runners confirmed include:
Winston Pemberton Powell, Ella Ryan, Jack and Ellie O'Connor, Naomi and Oscar France-Fleitas, Carlo Bigg, , Albie Preston, Arthur and Olive MacLean, Finley Deane, Philip Joseph, Zak Frala-Mora, Donny Doherty, Georgie Ostaszewski, Toby and Zach Paxton, Ned and Bertie Clarke, Mary and George Taylor, Aoife O'Regan, Samo Keles, Stanley Crowhurst, George and Annie Thompsett, Faith and Shalom Mangirazi, Lawrence Scott,  Clay Shapiro Steen and Darcee Cripps.

Win is a pupil at the school. He was diagnosed at the age of two with this progressive disease,
when his parents noticed he was struggling with his balance. The disease has no
cure. The A-T Society has done so very much for Win and his family from supporting them with how to navigate the welfare system to funding equipment, research and coordinating medical expertise.
Ataxia-Telangiectasia (“A-T”) is a complex genetic disease which affects many parts of the body and causes severe disability. The symptoms include lack of balance, slurred speech and more than normal infections. The A-T Society is a small national charity unique to the UK in the services it offers families. The Society’s objective has been to alleviate the distress and suffering caused by A-T. The A-T Society provides support services for families, funds research and specialist A-T clinics, and helps raise awareness.

Due to the extremely rare nature of the disease, it is all the more important that we raise awareness as much as we can. The Mini Hulk's will run before the older Hulk's take to the Hastings Half route. The children are very keen to join the ever growing 'One Hundred Hulks' and are thoroughly looking forward to the challenge. 💚

Win is a very, very special boy, and a much loved pupil at Scared Heart Catholic Primary school. The A-T Society are an amazing charity and the school community wanted to do their part to help support Win and his family. Please help the A-T Society by donating, no matter how big or small- it all helps!
If any other Mini Hulks would like to join in and run the race, please contact Jenny O'Connor and register through the following link:

The race is suitable for children aged 7-16 years of age. The more Mini Hulks the better! 💚

Many, many thanks

The Mini Hulk team 💚
