Jessica is my 21 year old niece with cerebral palsy. She needs help with every aspect of daily living and will do for the rest of her life.  Every day is a marathon effort for Jess and her family to get through. As a child there seemed to be plenty of support.  As she gets older, there appears to be greater difficulty in providing her with a suitable stimulating environment outside the home.

Fortunately she has a devoted family, dedicated to keeping her fit, well and happy.  But it is an uphill struggle to maintain any sort of normal family life for Jessica, her parents and her two brothers, one of whom also has a disability. Scope started because of the difficulties experienced by parents of children with Cerebral Palsy, especially with education and for this reason  I have decided to support a charity which supports  families with disabilities in general. So that there is help with finding the particular support needed (which constantly changes as the child grows),  accessing that support (with practical help with complicated forms and bureaucracy) and providing moral support at times of crisis.
