Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to compete in the London Triathlon in August 2015 to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Relief. This year I lost someone very close and important to me - my brave and brilliant auntie and godmother, Bernice. The last thing she said to me was "even if I knew the world would go to hell tomorrow, I would still plant an apple tree today". She was an inspiration to me and I loved her. So this seems like a fitting way to pay tribute to her, to thank her for all she did for me, and to give something back. But it's been nearly 17 years since I completed an Olympic Distance Triathlon, so any encouragement you can give (financial or otherwise!) would be very welcome!
I did it! 3:51:51. I'll take that. THANK YOU to my family for their practical help and support on the day, to Gill Kelly and Dawnie Rolph for getting me back into the open water, to Alice Barnes for her practical advice before the event and for just being her lovely self at the race start, to swim coaches Josh and Jenny, and to all the wonderful people from Meridian Triathlon Club for all their help and encouragement and good company on long bike rides. Thank you - it would not have been possible without you all.
