London Marathon 2017 · 23 April 2017 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I gave up smoking in January 2015, (I smoked for 24 years) I decided I needed to do something else as giving up smoking was making me eat more and put on a bit of weight.
I decided to get fit and start running without joining a running club. I set a standard of running several lampposts. When I put this into practise I could only run one and walk another. I persevered until I was running 3 lampposts and walking one. So through my own encouragement with the help of "map my run" I did my first mile, then one mile became two, two became three, and so on.
Since then I have done a number of races and one of them being the Birmingham half marathon in October of this year raising £1461.00 for a charity that is also close to my heart.
My aim is to raise as much money as I can for this amazing charity Action Heart, because without them a very close friend of my family would not be here today.
I have opened a blog/page on Facebook (Jenny’s London Marathon Training Page) so you can see all the hard work I am putting in to get to the finish line of the London 2017 Marathon, with your help and support on the fundraising side it will make my hard working journey a whole lot more encouraging.
